Reading, PA: Immix Wireless, the area’s fastest growing independent cell phone company, announced that it will close one retail location at the Fairgrounds Square Mall, while it will expand with new locations across the state this year.
The move is related to the company’s goal of reducing expenses in locations that have not performed, while expanding in areas more conveniently-located to serve its growing customer base throughout the state.
Last year Immix Wireless was awarded a federal broadband grant to bring high speed wireless Internet access to rural areas in Pennsylvania. Since then, the company has been working with its vendors and partners to plan and build the new network that will bring 4G broadband services to the area. Immix has expanded its senior sales management team, and is adding new sales and service locations including several independent wireless retailers and distributors. The company is also building a new data center in Harrisburg that will house its broadband switching systems and communications facilities.
Immix initially announced that high speed internet services would be available by the end of 2011, but due to circumstances beyond its control, has revised its construction plans and now expects to provide broadband services in the summer of 2012. “We know our customers are anxious and so are we. While the timing is a little later that we hoped, our expanded new product and service portfolio, sales strategy and upcoming launch of HSPA+ puts us in a strong position to grow even more than expected in 2012 and beyond,” said Linda Martin, the company’s Chief Operating Officer.
Martin went on to say that the company has been working with numerous municipalities, schools and local businesses to develop wireless communication solutions including remote monitoring, redundancy, and education initiatives aimed at improving the local economy. Martin also said that many businesses just want another choice when selecting a partner for its communication needs and a local partner is often preferred over a national operator.
“We hear over and over that many in Pennsylvania would like to keep their dollars in Pennsylvania. By selecting Immix Wireless as their official internet and cell phone provider, customers help keep jobs in Central PA, help the local economy in Central PA and help keep competition alive and well,” said Martin.
Immix Wireless isn’t waiting to launch its 4G broadband service to introduce new products however, and recently starting selling a home phone replacement option that reduces monthly communications expense and also improves cell phone coverage indoors.
The Fairgrounds Square Mall location will close on January 31 and customers in Berks County are invited to visit the Immix Wireless location in the Berkshire Mall or contact the company online at www.immix.com or call 888-249-8030 or 611 from their Immix Wireless phone. In addition, look for new store openings this year.
